We’ve got our friend Andres Lopez to lead a jam sessions featuring classic and improvisations rooted firmly in Latin, Central American and Caribbean music. With drink specials from Bounty Rum! Each month includes featured musicians ranging from horns, guitars, auxiliary percussion, violins and vocalists! Some previously featured artists are Boleszek Osinski on guitar and trumpet, Norberto Guerra on guitar and Cuban tres and Charlie Mejias on vocals. Andres Lopez is a versatile composer, drummer, and percussionist who has made a significant impact on Chicago's vibrant music scene since relocating in 2017. His debut album, Outrospección, released in 2022, showcases his unique blend of jazz, Latin American rhythms, and contemporary music. As a highly sought-after performer and recording artist, Andres has had the privilege of collaborating with some of Chicago's most esteemed projects, including The Alfonso Ponticelli and Swing Gitan band, as well as with acclaimed global projects such as the cumbia band Papaya Dada and the Cuban rap project Telmary & Havana Sana. As an educator, Andres has conducted workshops in Panama, Venezuela, Spain, Cuba, Ecuador, and the U.S. He is currently a faculty member at the prestigious SAE Institute, where he shares his expertise and inspires new generations of musicians to explore their creative potential.
