About this Event

Kat Sherman is a jazz vocalist, composer, arranger, and teaching artist based in Chicago. She has released recordings with jazz bassist Hannah Marks (Alone Together) and math rock band Giraffe House (Passenger, Leafy Greens, Toxic, Folding Chair Fathers), and has been a featured vocalist and arranger on recordings with the University of North Texas Jazz Singers, the Two O’Clock Lab Band directed by Rob Parton, and with various independent artists. She has won awards as a soloist, including the Downbeat magazine’s Best Graduate Jazz Voice Soloist. A passionate composer/arranger and educator, Kat is currently on the Jazz Studies faculty at DePaul University. She is in the process of writing and recording her debut album of original compositions and arrangements, which is slated for release in late 2025.
