The Hideout and StretchMetal are proud to announce Drone Rodeo StretchMetal’s monthly ambient music series in the round. Zander Raymond is an interdisciplinary artist and musician living and working in Chicago, IL. In his visual work, he improvises with found materials from his day to day to make collages and sculptures that serve as an autobiographical record of experience while pointing toward the unseen. His music is similarly rooted in improvisation, utilizing synthesizers, field recorders, and open-source sound computers to sample, warp, and build sonic images that embrace serendipity and highlight the musicality of the ordinary. Past Projects have been hosted by Devening Projects (Chicago, IL), Weatherproof (Chicago, IL), Switch Hook Projects (Chicago, IL), and Agatha’s (Buffalo, NY). Clem Leek is a British born musician and composer now living in Chicago. He specializes in modern classical and ambient soundscaping. Clem takes inspiration from his surroundings and the experiences that have guided his life. ‘Holly Lane’ being his first full length release on Hibernate Recordings is one such example; drawing on the mysterious nature of the English countryside and coastlines. Holly Lane was followed closely by ‘Lifenotes’ (2011, Drifting Falling) and ‘Rest’ (2013, Brian Records), both showcasing a more traditional side to Clem’s compositional style.
